SIA Jaunrīgas attīstības uzņēmums (JAU) is a dedicated expert company working in the real property development business and fully owned by the Norwegian company Port Pro AS. JAU was incorporated in September 2001.
The company has four subsidiaries, SIA Mācību centrs Andrejsala, SIA Kuģu bāze Andrejsala and SIA Termināls Andrejsala, all of which own, maintain and administrate their respective real property units, and SIA Elevators Andrejsala. The concern's organisational chart is shown here.
SIA Jaunrīgas attīstības uzņēmums' sole focus is the transformation of Andrejsala, a former commercial port district comprising 36 hectares of land. The current land-use proposal foresees the creation in Andrejsala of an urban district by introducing multi‑functional and high‑class architecture that would harmonise with the historic centre of Rīga. During the redevelopment project, particular attention is paid to obtaining a high level of environment quality as well as to the materialising the values of contemporary art and culture, with the sustainability of growth as the guiding principle.
