On 30 November, 2006, on the name day of Andrejsala, the symbol of the island – the anchor – was unveiled. It is installed on the concreted elevation next to the parking lot, not far from the entrance to the South End of Andrejsala.

Here’s some news to the ‘islanders’ and the visitors of Andrejsala who have grown used to popping out for lunch to ‘Bufete’, the small and nice canteen opened two years ago in the basement of the Floating Workshop moored at the south part of the area: you are now welcome to the canteen's new location on the upper floor of the Anchor Building!

Last summer Andrejsala saw the addition of a pleasant novelty as a new antique store, 'Viss antīkais', was opened. Once inside the store, everyone has the opportunity to breathe in and taste the most wonderful parts of the past.

In May 2009, the Rīga Spirits & Wine Outlet was opened on the ground floor of the former Hull Shop in Andrejsala. Now, having celebrated its second anniversary, the outlet has expanded by the addition of "Beer Terminal", the number one choice for beer lovers in the city.
