Cruise Ship Harbour

Since June 2007, the moorage of Andrejsala has been open for passenger ships that are up to 180 metres long and have a draught of up to 7.9 metres.

"Through efficient use of the existing infrastructure and mooring space in Andrejsala, which is located near the historic centre of Rīga, we can contribute to the number of cruise ships served and thus advance the development of tourism in the Latvian capital. Before, the Andrejsala anchorage was used commercially for handling of timber; it has now transformed into a harbour for cruise ships," comments Valters Māziņš, chairman of the board of SIA Jaunrīgas attīstības uzņēmums (the company in charge of the Andrejsala development).

During the 2008 holiday season it welcomed 18 cruise ships, but the following two were much busier as some 40 ships moored there.

Also, if you are coming to Andrejsala by boat do not pass by the excellent Rīga Spirits & Wine Outlet, opened in May 2009.
