(January 25, 2007)
In January of 2007, Andrejsala’s Hull Shop’s top floor has become home to one of Latvia’s best known creative groups Jaffa. Since 2000, when it was founded, Jaffa has gained certain popularity, especially among young people, as a union of artists, DJ’s and event organizers, publishers of the Jaffa Magazine and recorders of the music CD Jaffa vairs nav modē (Jaffa Is Out Of Fashion). The group also takes interest in cinema art.
Jaffa started settling down in the Hull Shop at the end of 2006. During one month, the group’s participants, using their own resources, renovated one of the top floor rooms of the Hull Shop, which has now become so much more attractive. “Here, we are going to deal mainly with creative project management”, Artūrs Mednis, known as a producer of a popular theatrical performance Alu cilvēks (Caveman) and a number of other interesting projects in Latvia, and a major promoter of Jaffa said to the guests who have attended the office opening event.
We wish Jaffa an indefatigable creative spirit in their new home, and if so, we are sure to witness some kind of an enthralling event held by them!
